Information and Instructions
Thank you for your interest in the Senior Pastor position at Beth-El Community Church. We are no longer taking applications as this position has been filled. May God bless you as you serve Him.
With support and accountability from the lay elders, the man serving as full-time pastor for Beth-El Community Church should be a humble servant that is passionate about the Word of God and be able to teach it in a way that "equips the saints" for life and ministry. The pastor should be led by the Spirit, deeply desire intimacy with Christ and be committed to prayer as part of their everyday life. Beth-El is very diverse in terms of age, so the ideal candidate would also be able to effectively encourage, love, minister to and unify all age groups with energy and enthusiasm.
The man called as pastor to Beth-El must reflect the scriptural qualifications of an elder/overseer found in 1 Tim. 3:1-2, 4:12; 2 Timothy 2:24-25; and Titus 1:6-9.
The pastor should agree with the Statement of Faith, Vision and Mission and the general practices (Believer's baptism, Lord's Supper, Baby Dedication, Traditional Marriage) to which we adhere as a congregation.
Prior pastoral ministry experience desired.
B.A. or higher in Pastoral/Christian Ministry from an accredited Evangelical Christian institution desired.
Beth-El Community Church is a welcoming, non-denominational, relaxed
community of believers from all generations. Beth-El is rooted in the
Mennonite heritage, believes in uncompromised Biblical truths, believer’s
baptism, and has a worship style that is more contemporary with a
blend of hymns.
The average attendance for Sunday worship is approximately 125 and over
half of the active membership consists of young families and children
under the age of 40. There are also a small number of single adults that
are in attendance on a regular basis. Several families within the church
body are actively involved in foster care and adoption. Beth-El also strives to reach out into the surrounding communities through various missions, with the hope of drawing others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Education, teaching, and discipling each other is valued at Beth-El. Strong support is shown for Sunday School, Small Groups, Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies, and Summer VBS. Beth-El has strong lay leadership and strives to continually love and support one another.
